Gulf Oil was a major global oil company from 1901 until March 15, 1985. The eighth-largest American manufacturing company in 1941 and the ninth-largest in 1979, Gulf Oil was one of the so-called Seven Sisters oil companies.
The Gulf logo and accompanying color scheme was instantly an icon thanks to Carroll Shelby and the Ford GT40 taking victory at the 24 Hours at Le Mans. Our version of this logo with the subtle nod to that team and era is a beautiful addition to any Shelby, Ford, Gulf, Le Mans fan's garage or office.
We may not all agree which make or model of car or truck is the best. But the one thing all of us car people have in common is the need for oil to keep our babies running smoothly. And, this is an icon homage to that industry as well.
In that mold, we have designed this incredible recreation of a classic Gulf Oil sign in our signature embossed style... taking something old and making in new again. Most noticeably the blue border is almost translucent or mirror finished because of the polished surface underneath. Adding this 22 x 22 inch piece of stainless steel and aluminum is sure to stand out in your garage, man cave, or bar and ensure your automotive sanctuary is a cut above the rest.
